Our Physical World (Part 4)

This topic is on forces. We start by looking at what forces are and the effects that they can have. Ways to measure a force are then investigated and we will move on to look at types of forces. We will learn about the magnetic force and electromagnets, before moving onto friction and looking at how this can be increased and decreased. Weight force and balanced and unbalanced forces will be covered. The topic finished with levers, machines and pressure. The last lesson involves a competition with straw bridges, to show that materials that are not particularly strong on their own can be surprisingly strong if they are used in the best way in a structure!
