Heat Energy
This topic starts off by focusing on the difference between heat and temperature and moves quickly on to how heat travels from one place to another. We find out that there are in fact 3 different ways that heat can travel and we study the differences between them. We look at conductors and insulators, explaining what they are and finding examples of each in our everyday lives. We explain how heat is responsible for the wind, how it can be used to ventilate mines, why Christmas decorations can flutter and how a flask works. Nowadays, we are constantly being told how to save energy. We finish off this topic by using what we have learned to suggest ways of keeping our houses warm but at the same time using as little energy as we can. Something that will help us all in the future.
